In order to nurture the spark of creativity, SF organized an Art and Craft workshop for teachers at our school, SMS, Chennai. On September 21st, 2016, around 20 teachers from the Montessori, KG and Primary section of our school, enthusiastically came together to explore different kinds of arts and craft activities that they could introduce in their classes. The workshop was conducted by Ms.Keerthana.T, formerly a teacher at the school and currently working with Shriram Foundation as the Academic Co-ordinator. Through the workshop, the teachers delved into hands-on activities to use art to develop aesthetics and fine motor skills and as a mode of expression for the children. The teachers found the workshop to be enriching and fun-filled. They were provided with the Workshop Manual containing details of all the ideas in a DIY format, for ease of implementation in their classrooms.
